But trends suggest that while these are popular with many women, a growing group favour the more masculine line of watches—and why wouldn’t they?

If you want diamonds, you can have them, if you want precious metal, by all means; fancy just a Plain-Jane steel tool watch, well this has you covered too. Available in both 36mm and 32mm, the women’s Chronomat is right on par—none of that dainty sub-30mm case sizing, because at the end of the day, this is still a tool watch.
The Breitling Chronomat was first released to the public in 1984
The Chronomat aviation watch was first released to the world in 1984. Since then, it has received the occasional aesthetic and technical upgrade—like the addition of the new rouleaux bracelet on the latest models—but Breitling has mainly stayed true to what made the original so great.
Breitling gave the Chronomat its newest facelift at the beginning of 2020, and when it came to creating the women’s version, it just made it slightly smaller. It has the highly legible dial, rouleaux bracelet, onion crown—all the things that make the men’s version so popular. While quartz versions are also available, Breitling has fitted the Chronomat 36 with the Breitling caliber 10, a chronometer rated adaptation of the ETA 2892 that has a 42-hour power reserve and runs at 28,800 vph. Now that’s a watch.
